In this episode we flip the script back to music production techniques. We’ve taken a short break form the artist promotion blueprint series to discuss Listening Techniques. Listen now to learn some simple tricks to help you maintain a fresh perspective on your mixes and to avoid the perils of ear fatigue (also known as “Potato Ear”)

Hi Dezz, Thanks for this awesome series of podcasts. I like them very much. In particular this podcast is very helpful. Your best advice is to start on crappy speakers. I never thought to begin balancing the volumes on a cheap computer speaker.I will definetly check this out today!
I check my mixes (own music) on very different systems, at first in my car, Boombox of the kids, Ipod-dock in the living room, Ipod when walking with the dog and even at work on my crappy monitor speakers. The key, as you have said, is to change the perspective. Another change in perspective can be another person commenting on the mix.
By the way – I like your term “quality decisions”. Keep up the great work !
Cheers
Michael Boemmer
Thanks Michael!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the show. I’ll do my best to keep them coming. And yes, a fresh perspective is the secret to achieving success in less time.
